Kentucky Veterans Assistance Program

The Kentucky Veterans Assistance Program offers a suite of specialized services that promote business ownership to active and reserve duty military personnel, veterans and spouses impacted by deployments. The Program works with various groups at Fort Knox and Fort Campbell to provide business training and consulting services to veterans interested in starting, expanding or maintaining an existing business during deployment.

The Veterans Assistance Program was founded in 2009 by the Kentucky Small Business Development Center (KSBDC). KSBDC was one of four programs nationwide to receive a veterans small business grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration. In 2010, the KSBDC received a funding extension to continue services under this program.

“Individuals with military experience are prime entrepreneurs because of the skills they have acquired during their military training and service,” said Becky Naugle, Ph.D., KSBDC State Director.  “We are pleased to have additional resources to provide business support to build on their skills and ensure they achieve success in their business ventures.”
